July Breakfast Meeting #52

As part of Gold Coast Tourism Week, David Crisafulli MP will present at a special SKAL Southern Gold Coast breakfast on Thursday, 5 July, 2018.

The Member for Broadwater will provide an overview of the importance of the Gold Coast visitor economy.

This will replace our usual July meeting, normally held on the third Tuesday of the month.

Please note as a result, there will be no SKAL Southern Gold Coast breakfast meeting on Tuesday 17 July, 2018.

About David Crisafulli MP

David Crisafulli is the Queensland State member for Broadwater representing the Northern Gold Coast since 2017.

Prior to moving to the Gold Coast, he was a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Townsville between 2004-2011 and State Member for the North Queensland-based electorate of Mundingburra from 2012 to 2015. Upon his election to parliament, he was immediately promoted to cabinet as the Minister for Local Government. Following the devastating floods of 2013, David had his portfolio expanded to included Community Recovery and Resilience.

Before entering politics, David had a career in print, radio and television journalism then as the owner of a company offering media, business development and government strategy across the country.

Born and raised in Ingham, North Queensland, David maintains an active interest in a sugar farm in his home town.

He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and became the inaugural winner of James Cook University’s Outstanding Early Career Alumni in 2010, a decade after graduating with a Bachelor of Journalism.

He and his wife Tegan live in Hope Island with their two daughters.

David currently serves as the Shadow Minister for Tourism as well as the Shadow Minister for Environment, the Great Barrier Reef and Science.

He has embarked on a push for the opposition to put forward a positive plan to unlock the state’s eco-tourism potential.
